Common Heritage – The Tale of Four Cities

Common Heritage - The Tale of Four Cities is a project dedicated to the research, interpretation and promotion of the common heritage shared by the cities of Timisoara (Romania), Szeged (Hungary), Subotica (Serbia) and Odessa (Ukraine). Implemented by the Prin Banat Association the project aims to help shape the local identity of the four cities through heritage.

The project was born from the need to form and exhibit  a common narrative, which would increase the feeling of belonging to the same common European space, by identifying both the shared common elements (cultural, historical, ethnological) and the differences that define the local specificity of each city. Ultimately, the project is a celebration of cultural unity and diversity alike, by using built heritage as a cultural mediator between four cities from four different countries, which come together through art in Timișoara.

Partners: TourInform Szeged (HUN), VisitSubotica (SRB), Subotica (SRB), MZZSK Subotica (SRB), Asociația Faina (UKR), Institutul Național al Patrimoniului (RO), Ordinul Arhitecților din România (RO), Direcția Județeană pentru cultură Timiș (RO)

Organized by the Prin Banat Association, the project is part of the national cultural program "Timișoara - European Capital of Culture in 2023" and is financed by the European Echoes program, run by the Timișoara Project Center, with amounts allocated from the state budget, through the budget of the Ministry of Culture.
